I love sleeveless t-shirts
sometimes I just wear them to bed but sometimes I do wear them to the gym
and sometimes I just wear them.

this one would be just so naughty to wear to the gym.
or omg work.  LOL.  the guys would have a fit.

anyway, the "Likes to Play" design is a lot of fun.  I used to have a pair of handcuffs oh so long ago.  How can one lose handcuffs?

The handcuff image on this t-shirt though took a HECK of a lot of work.
when I was done I realized there was a "Heartshaped"  space - just perfect for a heart.

I love this font... it is elegant, sophisticated and well.. very gothy.


I played for a while with the placement of  the "Yes Please"
and finally decided it should go
down the bottom of the design

its almost as if the words are speaking to the boots.

When i first put this together I did it as a series of elements.  All I really have to do is "assemble" the elements --- so I will eventually have a bunch of Car Themed T-Shirts.  hmf.   I've also got a front view of a grill... maybe a Deer in the Headlights?  heh.  

meanwhile zombie designs continue... but i need to do more photos.  ... i LOVE the idea of the marching dead... so maybe I'll do that tonight. heh.

when i get things organized with a website there's another thing I'll need to consider: setting aside some money for an advertising budget.

what i know about advertising can be summed up in a teaspoon and poured down the drain. it won't even damage the pipes. not enough to clog.

but i do know a bit about the Web eh?
so, I know there are things like SEO: search engine optimization. A really key factor. I know there are important things like: link exchange. Getting on search engines. getting listed on various niche t-shirt directories.

1st: I need to identify my market and then do whatever I can to get my designs in front of them

so:
who likes these t-shirts?  
- well my friends.  Cool people.

but lets get more specific:   who besides the 50 people i know directly?

ONE: 
Theme the designs - ie there are the horror t-shirts.  there are the "Signs".  I've got stuff though that doesn't fit but still looks cool like the car design.  I *could* do animal designs..... but the problem is I don't want to scatter everything.  I have a way of becoming too.... scattered :D

so.  FOCUS.
Horror Designs and Yellow shirt designs.   simple.

so lets get back to the idea of theme: 
Horror shirts....    lets first focus on that.. cause it's easier.

Who would like Horror shirts?   What can be included under Horror_Tees that isn't directly horrific?  Lets do some.. free form thinking about this people (she says, talking to herself)

1.  Zombies.   - people who like zombies.  *i* like zombies.  There seems to be others as well.
2.  Horror Movie fans
3. Fans of old horror movies = ie: old frankenstein, bela lugosi fans, images from old movies.. old quotes
4. Monster fans.... specifically:  vampires. ghosts, 
5. Hallowe'en fans

but you know.. i'm Goth.  and I like SF.. science fiction.  And I've gone to the odd SF-con.  And as I think ... there might be a market as well.   
6. SF/F/Horror conventions

now, i'm a geek too...
7. geeks 


and thats about all i can think of as a "Horror Tee-shirt" fan.   I'm already on a few forums.  so why not see if those can eventually pan out and lead somewhere.  

we'll see.

On the subject of "have you made money with your T-shirts" I will definitively answer:
no.
not yet anyway.

To be fair, I've not really advertised the t-shirts yet. I want to get the site up first, get the designs ready .. and then yammer on and on. Basically: line up the ducks (mental image of that on a shirt.. hmmm). The guys who are buying them at work are waiting for paychecks. that makes a possible 5 or so sales, mid-to-end month.
1. cafe press won't pay out for 30 days after a sales confirmed
2. # of hours designing shirts = 20? so far. payout... hmf. see above.
3. # of hours thinking about t-shirt designs = 100 (so far. and growing)

at this rate, a pay out of $10 will pay me a wage of $0.02 hr.
better not quit my day job just yet.

really there isn't much to say.   I have a full time job doing tech support.  My head often feels like the above.  I'll be talking to a customer on the phone and they'll say something shitty, and I get this pressure... like a migraine behind my eyes.  

The boys at work love this t-shirt.  The goth guys have been clamoring for it.  This shirt and the stuff on horror-tees.  I've got it up at cafepress.com/yellowdesigns   and I've also put in the horror_tees shop.  Exploding heads are pretty standard horror stuff.  :D

I'm going to do a variation on this design too. 
1. world exploding
2. head exploding - sans the yellow - and a shotgun on the back.  or vise-versa.

So this is going to be a blog about some of the designs, ideas and concepts. The company name wouldn't fit on here but i've got a site, soon to launch called:
Yellow Shirt Designs.

one might imagine that there are yellow shirts involved. but no. The idea originated when looking at those mysterious yellow CAUTION signs. A month ago while wandering Toronto I noted a sign of a man digging. My first thought was: he's shoveling crap. Thought two: digging a grave.

And that was the beginning. Yellow Shirt Designs was born!
